Visit Exmouth and swim with whale sharks

Exmouth: The gateway to the Ningaloo Reef

Exmouth is a small town, inhabiting a bit more than 2,000 inhabitants in the north west of Australia on the North West Cape. The touristic city is surrounded by parks onshore and by the Exmouth Gulf offshore. Exmouth is known as the gateway to the Ningaloo Reef. Most touristic tours to the reef start from Exmouth. The Ningaloo Reef is not as popular as the Great Barrier reef on the east coast of Australia. However, it is very easy to access, as it is positioned very close to the landmass and it inhabits a massive diversity of exotic animals like

dugongs,
– humpback whales,
– dolphins and
manta rays.

In total it inhabits more than 500 species of fishes, 300 coral species and 600 species of molluscs (Australia’s coral coast, 2019; Visit Ningaloo, 2019).
