Broome is the biggest city in the region of Kimberley. It has a population of around 14,000 inhabitants, more than 20% of them have an Aboriginal origin. The whole region of Kimberley has a extreme low population density. The area of around 163,000 sq. miles, which is bigger that the area of Germany, only inhabits around 50.000 people. Broome is calm touristic city, which is famous for its pearl hunting and its beautiful beaches. Having a daily mean temperature of 27 °C, close beaches are definitely advantageous. Moreover, the city is surrounded by a breath taking landscape and natural attractions like the Coulomb Point Nature Reserve (Visit Broome, 2019; Kimberley Australia, 2019).
Doing a camel ride in Broome is the absolute favourite tourist attraction. These tours are provided by different local tourism companies. A tour normally takes half an hour until one hour and is led by a tour guide and can be conducted in the morning, at noon or during the sunset, which is the most popular ride. The camel ride takes place at the Cable beach, which is world renowned for its beautiful sunset.
