Time to reflect

The main objective of the blog was to give the knowledge, which I gathered during my year abroad to future travellers. In order to find people, who are interested in the blog, the content needed to be presented in an understandable and enjoyable way. According to the stats below and peoples engagement, I conclude that the blog was successful and met its goal. It informed, supported and entertained the audience. The comments were unexceptional positive and were answered as accurate as possible. The website is build up in an easy way. I is not cluttered with content and every information is accessible within a maximum of 3 clicks.

During the project I realised, that there are too many travel blogs informing about Australia. Therefore, I set my focus on animals, in order to occupy a niche. Moreover, after a short period of time I understood that it is hard to attract attention on a blog without further advertisement. Thus, I created an Instagram channel and linked it to the blog. The created Instagram channel helped massively to attract more attention. It contains similar content like the blog and additional information and quizzes. My target group were people between 18 -30, as there are more likely to travel for a longer period of time. As the figure shows, I was able to reach that audience.

Moreover, the statistics show, that most of my followers were men, visiting the channel between noon and midnight. The most active days are Saturday and Sunday.

The blog was mostly used by people from the UK and Germany. In total 88 different people had a look at the blog. In total, I was able to lead 76 people from the Instagram page to the blog. This means that the major part of blog-visitors were attracted by the Instagram channel.

As seen in the following figure, the blog had a constant number of visitors over the time.

The most popular time is Monday at 7 pm. Thus, it makes sense to upload content during that as, in order to attract more attention.
