Planning your adventure

Nice to have you here travel mate! Now it’s time to get prepared.

You decided to go to Australia! That’s a wonderful decision. Incredible adventures are awaiting you, which you will remember for the rest of your life. Nevertheless, you have to consider that going to Australia needs a lot of planning:

  • How to get there?

The pure flight time between the UK and Australia is almost 24 hours and is not possible to be conducted in one. Perfect for a stopover! Suitable options for a stopover are:

– Dubai,
– Abu Dhabi,
– Doha,
– Singapur,
– Kuala Lumpur or
– Bankok.

You can give yourself a rest for a day or two, minimise the strains of travelling and discover a new destination (Gebicki, 2018). The most commonly used airport in Australia are Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth. They offer the best prices as well as the most regular connections (Trend, 2018).

  • Is a Visa needed and if so, which one?

The entry requirements of Australia differ from country to country. British citizens can get an electronic visa for a maximum of 90 days for a service fee of A$20 (GOV, 2019). For everyone not holding the British passport: Check out the Passport Index. https://www.passportindex.org/

  • What is the currency and which prices can be expected?

The Australian currency is Australien Dollar, or short: A$. One Pound Sterling equals 1,81 Australien Dollar in February 2018.
